RedArc

A personal nurse to support you through illness, disability, trauma and bereavement

What is RedArc?

After getting a critical illness diagnosis, you might not know what comes next or how to process it. With RedArc, you don’t have to go through it alone.

RedArc gives you one-on-one support with a personal nurse to guide you through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. From helping you understand what your diagnosis means to listening to your worries, your nurse will be there for you for as long as you need.

Personalised support

From managing work to how to discuss your illness with your family, your nurse can help you come to terms with your diagnosis and what it means for you – including changes to expect and questions to ask your doctors.

Second medical opinions

If you want a second medical opinion, your nurse can arrange a face-to-face appointment with a specialist consultant. You'll get a detailed report, which your nurse can go through with you to explain exactly what it all means, and discuss your options and next steps.

There for you and your family

After a critical illness diagnosis, your family will likely have their own worries and questions, and need someone to turn to throughout your treatment. Your nurse will be there for them too, to help with practical and emotional issues.

How RedArc can help

An experienced shoulder to lean on icon An experienced shoulder to lean on

RedArc’s expert nurses all have first-hand knowledge of looking after people with critical illnesses.

As well as general nursing backgrounds, they each have their own specialist areas of expertise – everything from cancer and stroke to bereavement and anxiety. When you get in touch, RedArc will select your nurse based on your specific needs.

Unlimited, confidential support icon Unlimited, confidential support

Your nurse is there for you and your family through treatment and recovery, with no limits on how many times you can speak to them.

And everything you talk to your nurse about is completely confidential – RedArc won't pass any information on without your consent.

Helping connect the dots icon Helping connect the dots

Your nurse can share practical tips for getting the most from the NHS and any benefits you have through work. They can also direct you to other organisations that could help, like Macmillan and Carers UK.

Access to mental health support icon Access to mental health support

If you need help with your mental wellbeing, your nurse can draw on a wide range of services. They’ll get to know more about you, your situation and what you need, all so they can work out what kind of help is best for you. This could be a course of assessed external therapy, such as counselling, CBT or complementary therapy, or even practical help at home.

Recommendations and treatment advice are in line with UK NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines.
