Line Manager Toolkit: Mental Health

Start conversations about mental health with confidence

What is the toolkit?

Managers: you don’t just take care of the day-to-day meetings and presentations at work. You’re also the first point of call when something isn’t right.

Our Line Manager Toolkit helps you know what to do to support your colleagues’ wellbeing.

With video modules and content all designed by clinicians, it teaches you how to spot the warning signs of poor mental health, identify reasonable adjustments and manage professional boundaries.

That way, you can make your workplace a safe space for conversations about mental health, so you can talk about it confidently – and step in early.

Bite-size video content

You’ll learn through a series of bite-size videos. They’ll take you through supporting wellbeing both in the office and remotely, including spotting the warning signs and creating a safe space to talk about mental health.

Training that fits into a busy schedule

Between calls and presentations, it can be hard to make time for training. With the toolkit, you can go through each module as and when it suits you – whether that’s over a cup of tea between calls or a five-minute refresher.

Confidence across a range of subjects

You’ll discover resources and videos that go over all the topics you need to handle sensitive subjects at work, such as changing behaviour, having difficult conversations, signposting, and responding in a crisis.

Shaping a culture of support with the toolkit

It’s natural not to be sure how to approach talking about mental health. This toolkit brings together everything you need to feel more confident bringing it up, so you can step in and support your colleagues as soon as possible.

Reasonable adjustments can make all the difference in supporting your team. Our toolkit will take you through the ways you can change or adapt your colleagues’ work life to lighten their mental load. And with those in place, they’ll feel more taken care of returning to work after mental health leave – and they may not need to take the leave in the first place.

We developed our toolkit with mental health professionals who have a strong reputation for clinical expertise. Their in-depth understanding of innovative digital healthcare runs through our suite of mental health videos, which means you’re getting expert guidance on handling mental health in the workplace.

With both your work schedule and mental load filling up with meetings and one-to-ones with colleagues, it might be easy for your own mental health to slip through the cracks. That’s why our toolkit is also there to help support your mental health too. It will help you learn how to manage professional boundaries while being there for your team – and give you the tools to stay mentally healthy.
