Your Barclays Home Insurance policy

Aviva have been Barclays insurance partner for the last 17 years. When you took out your policy via Barclays, Aviva is the company who manage and maintain your policy for you. This means that you can continue with the same policy, product, cover and premium during your current policy terms so you don’t need to do anything.

You don’t need to do anything, your renewal documents will be branded Barclays but your policy will still move to Aviva on the 31 August 2023. Aviva has agreed to keep providing the same product to you, with the same terms and conditions for your policy term.

If you have an “Insurance shaped around, you” policy with a prefix of MPH this will now be called Aviva Select Home Insurance.

All other policy prefixes will now be called Aviva Flex Home Insurance.

You can keep managing your policy in the same way until 31 August 2023.

From the 31 August 2023 to manage your policy online you’ll need to register for MyAviva where you’ll be able to see and print documents and make a claim online.

All current contact numbers and opening times will stay the same.

Your current cover and the Aviva claims service won’t change during your current policy term.

If your home is safe and secure, from the 31 August 2023 you can tell Aviva about a claim online by registering with MyAviva and they’ll aim to get back to you within two hours.

If your home isn’t safe and secure, please call the Aviva claims line on 0800 404 6856. It’s open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

If Aviva is currently dealing with a claim for you, nothing will change.

If you, your friends or family currently get a Barclays staff discount, this will continue for your current term but it won’t be applied to policies that renew on or after 31 August 2023.

The removal of your staff discount and other factors that affect the price might make a difference to your premium at renewal. As usual, you’ll receive your renewal invite around three weeks before the actual renewal date and this will show your new premium for the next year. Aviva won’t be able to provide a revised premium without staff discount before your renewal is due.

Any discount or offers that you have received through previous marketing campaigns will remain in place until your first renewal, at which point they will no longer apply.

If you decide to cancel before your renewal, because of the transfer from us, most of our policies don’t have a mid-term cancellation charge, if yours does this will be waived up until 20 December 2023. You can also opt-out of auto-renewal, if that is your current preference. If you want to discuss your policy with us, all existing ways to get in touch about your home insurance are unchanged.

We’re ending Blue Rewards for Barclays Home Insurance on 29 July and your last monthly reward payment will be made at the beginning of August.

To make sure you receive your full annual entitlement, we’ll be making a one-off final reward payment to you by the end of September. We’ll calculate this from 30 July until your next renewal date. If you have less than four months until your renewal date, we’ll calculate the payment on the basis that there are four months left.

If you collect Blue Rewards for other products you have with us, this change won’t affect them.

The monthly Avios Reward for new and renewed Barclays Home Insurance policies will end on 29 July 2023. Your last monthly Avios Reward will be made at the beginning of August. This will show in the Barclays app as normal and we’ll credit it to your British Airways Executive Club.

To make sure you receive your full annual entitlement, we’ll be making a one-off final reward points payment to you by the end of September. We’ll calculate this from 30 July until your next renewal date.

If you collect Avios Rewards for other products you have with us, this change won’t affect them.
