Aviva Digital GP

We believe checking in with your doctor should be quick and simple. With Aviva Digital GP you can get around the clock access to GP video consultations and repeat NHS prescriptions (all NHS England exemptions accepted).

Provided by Square Health, the Aviva Digital GP app effectively gives you a GP in your pocket.

Here are the benefits you can look forward to:

  • GP video consultations, 24/7: book an appointment in-app with an NHS-registered private GP
  • When time matters: Video consultations can help save time, with no need to visit a GP surgery. You could have an appointment in as little as 30 minutes and appointments can be booked 24/7. Your appointment slot will last up to 15 minutes.
  • Choice of GP: choose your GP by gender or choose to see the same GP who you’ve seen previously via the app, within the last 6 months. Review GP bios and select a GP based on your needs and the GP’s profile.
  • Repeat NHS prescriptions: order prescribed repeat medication within the app (all NHS England exemptions accepted) and get free UK delivery.
  • Consultation advice: After your GP consultation, you can see the advice you’ve been given and consultation history within the app.
  • Your children under 16: You can add your children under the age of 16 to your account for paediatric consultations, with a limit of 10 children per member.
  • Access to our menopause service, providing access to up to 6 consultations per member, per year, with a menopause trained health professional to discuss symptoms and concerns. There is also a symptom assessment tool to provide a pre-consultation report and an information hub providing practical tips and support.

Aviva Digital GP is available to residents of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man at home or abroad.

When other services could suit you better:

You might want to consider the following factors to make sure the Digital GP service is the most appropriate to support your health needs:

  • If you require support for joint, limb or bone aches and pains (commonly known as musculoskeletal problems), there is no need for a GP referral as you can access specialised support through the Back2Better service by contacting our claims team.
  • If you require support for mental health, there is no need for a GP referral as you can access specialised support through the mental health pathway service by contacting our claims team.
  • If the reason for your consultation is related to a complex health need (an ongoing condition that you're already under medical supervision for and/or are receiving medication or treatment for), complex medical history or you have a health need that requires hands-on examination (eg lumps or bumps), your NHS GP may be better suited to help you.

Other than the information you complete and update via the Medical Profile within the app, the Digital GP won’t have access to your medical records. This means there may be situations where you will still be referred back to your NHS GP such as if you have a complex health need or history. If you have moratorium underwriting and want to make a claim on your scheme, we may need to get your medical information from your NHS GP to understand if your symptom or condition is new or pre-existing.

  • You can keep on track: Add new health and wellbeing goals to track your progress over time.

How to get started

To get started, download the Aviva Wellbeing app from the App Store or Google Play where you can view the terms and conditions and the privacy policy before you sign up. Mobile data charges may apply. 

  1. Enter your employer access code EYPTNR as well as a few personal details and click ‘Sign-up’.
  2. Read and accept the in-app terms and conditions and the privacy policy... and you're ready to go!
